I will be directing Tokyo Theatre for Children's (TTFC) upcoming production of The Snow Queen. This show has been cancelled twice due to the pandemic and I'm excited to finally get to work on it. This is the first show I am directing for the company though I have been involved in previous productions as a performer, musical director, costumer, and backstage runner. TTFC is a community theatre group of adults dedicated to bringing quality English language theatre to the young and young at heart. It was founded in 1974 with the most recent production being the November 2019 performance of The Weirdest Kid.
The auditions will be taking place on Saturday 20th August and Monday 22nd August. This is the first time, since the pandemic started, that I will be involved in in-person auditions. I have been grateful for the technology that allows people to create video auditions but there is no doubt that I'd rather see performers in person.
Performances are at Theater Brats in Shinjuku on 11th, 12th and 13th of November 2022 and auditions slot are still available by emailing: ttfc@celticstar.com. Rehearsals begin at the start of September and will mostly be held on Monday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
